Occasionally, a movie comes along that’s so shocking and impactful that it can’t help but ingrain itself into the memories and minds of all who watch it. This is that movie.
I had the good fortune of catching Landmine Goes Click at the Madtown Horror Film Festival this past weekend, and the effect this film had on the audience was apparent– it’s certainly one of the most captivating, suspenseful, and thought-provoking horror films of the year. As the end credits rolled, everyone in the theater remained silent and still in their seats, as every last one of them collectively let out the breath they had been holding for the entirety of the 110-minute-long film.
The plot is much more complex than any synopsis is able to offer without a fair amount of spoilers. For this reason, I’m not going to attempt to summarize it at all for you. I recommend going into this one with as little knowledge of its storyline as possible.
Landmine Goes Click is perhaps the most honest take on revenge I have ever had the privilege of witnessing. This is revenge in its rawest form– it’s without justice and without a hero. There is no room for a happy ending here.
This is not a film you will soon forget.
Landmine Goes Click is coming to select theaters on November 10, 2015. It contains scenes of torture and rape, and may not be suitable for all audiences.
